Vampiric, by far.

People that like the 20/20 sundering do so simply because they are too lazy to switch weapons when not fighting.

Arguable...
Vamp mod negates possible damage buff, while sundering doesn't. Hundred Blades combined with JI can be very ouchy...
Fiery mod can be good with Conjure Flame.
Shocking mod can be good with Iron Mist.
Cold mod can be good with Shivers.

So I say think how you going to use it first, then apply mods.

Edit:
oh wait, by "worth more" you mean you want to sell it? Then it really doesnt matter. Serious buyer doesn't care about replacebale mods.

Never put a mod on a weapon and expect it to sell more than the mod + weap separately. Plus, it's annoying. Just sell as-is and sell your upgrade too.

And to provide something constructive on the "whats better", it depends on how much damage you're doing. The higher damage you're expecting, the more closely sundering's average damage will be to vampiric's. Thus, it's best to use your vampiric sword all while building up and, if you happen to know you're going to be using a skill that will be doing a considerable amount of damage, switch to your sundering weapon for that one attack.

If you are going to use it yourself then you want vampic. Vampic is still the best DPS boost in the game.

Highest damage is vamp, you're asking for highest value, in this case its not worth to mod the sword.

Yes if ur going for DPS always choose vamparic, however, i only use vamparic in PvP wer dmg is absoultely essential, in PvE i usually wield a Sundering mod or zealous jst because i rly cnt be bothered to change weapons wen running about.

No point modding weapons to sell, if anything that decreases what you would have got unmodded if the buyer doesn't want the prefix.

Actually it is best to have several swords with differant mods to fit the situation. At times it would be best to use vamp and others it would be best with sundering. Same can be said with other mods such as fiery, shocking, icey, furious, ect. Basically use the right modded weapons for the build you are using.

I use both of them.
when i play as a axe warrior i use if use the my 20/20 +30 axe when attacking a 1 or 2 enemies, but if i fight more then 2 i switch to 3/1 vamp sword +30. i only do this if i have Triple Chop and cyclone axe in my build.

and as a sword warrior i always go as a 20/20 sword +30.
